LOLER inspection software
Every hoist, sling and lift on its own six- or twelve-month clock, the examination report on the equipment, and the next examination in your Work list before it is due.
The duty
LOLER 1998 requires a thorough examination every 6 months for equipment that lifts people and for lifting accessories, and every 12 months for other lifting equipment, or to a written scheme. The report must be kept available. The usual failure is not a missed examination. It is a report nobody can find.
How AssetWRX handles it
- 1
Every item on its own clock
Hoists, slings, eyebolts, gantries and passenger lifts each carry their own 6- or 12-month cycle, or the interval in your written scheme.
- 2
Due before it is overdue
Equipment approaching its examination shows in your Work list ahead of the date, so nothing goes out of date quietly.
- 3
Serial number and safe working load on the record
Identification, safe working load, location and every past examination stay on the equipment, one scan away at the equipment itself.
- 4
A defect becomes a job with a trail
The defect raises the job, the job is tracked to completion, and the photos and notes stay on the item.
- 5
The report where it is needed
The examination report is on the equipment, not in an inbox, for as long as you have to keep it.
- 6
Signed by the competent person
The examining competent person signs the report, and the signature is kept with that version of it.
Questions
- What intervals does LOLER require?
- Six months for lifting equipment used to lift people and for lifting accessories, twelve months for other lifting equipment, or the intervals set out in a written scheme of examination drawn up by a competent person.
- Does this replace the competent person?
- No. A thorough examination must be carried out by a competent person. AssetWRX is where the schedule, the photos and notes, and the reports live.
- Can we import our existing equipment register?
- Yes, by CSV on every plan, including the Free one.
