Prüfungen nach BetrSichV, recorded per Arbeitsmittel
Work equipment inspections under the German Betriebssicherheitsverordnung: intervals from the risk assessment, the befähigte Person, records per item.
What the standard asks
BetrSichV requires the employer to carry out a risk assessment (Gefährdungsbeurteilung) for every work equipment and to derive from it the type, scope and interval of inspections (§ 3 and § 14).
Inspections are carried out by a qualified person (zur Prüfung befähigte Person). Installations requiring monitoring are inspected by an approved inspection body (zugelassene Überwachungsstelle) at the intervals in Annex 2.
The results must be recorded (§ 14 Abs. 7 and § 17) and the records kept at least until the next inspection; for installations requiring monitoring, for the life of the installation.
How AssetWRX handles it
- 01
Every Arbeitsmittel is an asset
Machines, ladders, lifting gear and electrical equipment each have a record with the inspection type, interval and the person or body responsible.
- 02
Intervals from the risk assessment
Scheduled inspections run per asset on the interval you set from the Gefährdungsbeurteilung, with reminders before the date.
- 03
The Prüfprotokoll as a report
The inspection template captures the scope, findings and result. The signed PDF is the record, kept on the asset until the next inspection and beyond.
- 04
External inspection bodies as contractors
Invite the ZÜS or your Sachverständiger to the specific assets. Their certificate is attached to the record with its expiry.
- 05
Defects become work
A failed inspection opens a job with the evidence, and the equipment stays marked until the re-inspection passes.
Questions
- Who may inspect under BetrSichV?
- A person qualified for the inspection (zur Prüfung befähigte Person, defined in TRBS 1203), or for installations requiring monitoring an approved inspection body. AssetWRX records who performed each inspection and stores their certificate.
- How long do inspection records have to be kept?
- At least until the next inspection of the same kind (§ 14 Abs. 7). For installations requiring monitoring, records of the inspections under § 15 and § 16 are kept for the life of the installation.
- Is the site available in German?
- A German version of the site and the app is in review. The app's user interface already supports German; the marketing pages ship in German once the translation has been checked.
